Come on down
Yesterday, when I appeared on The Web Ahead, I issued this challenge to anyone who complains about hearing familiar faces speak at web conferences:
If you don’t think that I’m good enough to be speaking. If you don’t think that what I’m going to talk about will be interesting. If you think that I’m just a same old face.
Come on down.
Come on down, at the beginning of my talk and you can take my spot.
I dare you.
If you want to put in the work to prepare, come on down, you can take my place.
If you want to stand up there, in front of three or four hundred people, alongside fabulous speakers, come on down.
If you want to be judged by the hundreds of people in the audience and the thousands more watching on Twitter, be my guest.
Come on down. Take my spot.
Or shut the hell up.
