I Keep Faith, CSS workshop example site

Having been booked by Carsonified to host a full-day workshop on advanced CSS back in May, in the weeks leading up to the show I had a flash of inspiration. Why not combine one of my favourite topics with one of my favourite musicians?

Billy Bragg's music and the man himself have been an inspiration to me since I first met Billy in 1982. Back in the early eighties, my (never very successful) band played a gig in Corby in support of the miners who were valiantly striking against Thatcherism. Billy was the headline act as his first album had been released earlier that year. It's been twenty-six years and Billy's music and I have stayed friends ever since.

Billy's latest album, Mr. Love & Justice, is one of his best. The album has a micro-site, a lovely piece of work, that extends Billy's latest branding online. Unfortunately his main site looks a little faded by comparison, no doubt because of its age and organic growth over the years. So I decided to take it upon myself to redesign it to make a set of example pages for my Billy Bragg inspired I Keep Faith CSS workshop.

Of course my design isn't authorized by Billy and its aim solely is to help me demonstrate some new ways to approach and utilize CSS positioning and other layout techniques. It did give me an excuse to go-to-town with available CSS3 selectors as well as Firefox, Opera and Safari browser specific CSS. I had huge fun making it.

Feedback from my hosts at Carsonified tells me that the workshop was a real success with the attendees.

My example files from the I Keep Faith workshop now have a new home. If you leave me your name and email address you can also download the slides from the event, either as a set of images for your iPhone or iPod Touch or as a Quicktime movie.
