My new book, Hardboiled Web Design

After a year in the planning and six months in the making, my new book, Hardboiled Web Design is available to buy from Five Simple Steps

The idea for Hardboiled Web Design came to me while driving home from a day with Simon Collison. It seemed like a mad idea, but a quick phone call to may partner in crime Owen Gregory confirmed my hunch that the ideas behind Hardboiled were sound.

If you’ve been working on the web for a while, your bookshelves may already be buckling under the weight of books about HTML and CSS. Do you really need another one? Hardboiled Web Design is different. It’s for people who want to understand why, when and how to use the latest HTML5 and CSS3 technologies in their everyday work. Not tomorrow or next week, but today. If you’re hungry to learn about how the latest technologies and techniques will make your websites and applications more creative, flexible and adaptable, then this is the book for you. You’ll need to be willing to leave your preconceptions at the door, and hungry to learn about how using HTML5 and CSS3 will change the way you design and develop for the web.

Fast forward twelve months and with the help of the amazing team of people at Five Simple Steps, Hardboiled Web Design is finally available.

I can’t thank everyone who inspired and helped with the book’s production (that would take too long (you know who you are)), but I do want to give special thanks to a special few:

Above all, I want to thank Mark Boulton for his faith in the project and his passion for making Hardboiled Web Design better than I ever imagined and to Nick Boulton whose critical eye for the book’s design is second to none.

Hardboiled Web Design is be available to buy from Five Simple Steps in PDF format and paperback and a limited edition PDF/paperback bundle that includes an A2 poster of Kevin Cornell’s cover artwork.
