Stuff & Nonsense product and website design

Design a new website or product

For businesses ready to tell a better story and look more distinctive.

Every project begins with understanding your business

A new website or digital product is an opportunity to tell your story more clearly. Whether you’re launching a business, repositioning an established brand, or replacing something that’s no longer doing you justice, my goal isn’t simply to make you look better. It’s to create a website or product that reflects who you are.

For almost thirty years, I’ve helped businesses uncover what makes them distinctive and express it through thoughtful design. The websites and products I create aren’t built around templates or trends. They’re inspired by the stories that make businesses worth remembering.

Every business has a story worth telling

Every business has a story. Sometimes it’s obvious. Other times it’s hidden beneath years of changing priorities, growth, or simply by being too close to see things clearly. That story isn’t your about us or company history page, it’s a combination of your experience, expertise, and values, plus the reasons people choose you instead of someone else. My job isn’t to invent a story, it’s to uncover yours.

My process starts with listening. I’ll ask questions, challenge assumptions, and look for why you or your organisation is different from everyone else’s. Once I understand what matters most, the colours, illustrations, layouts, and typography we choose will reinforce that difference. The result will be a website or digital product that feels unmistakably yours.

Design decisions should tell the same story

Once we uncover the story you want people to remember, it will guide every design decision. Images communicate ideas and illustrate content, layouts direct attention, typography expresses your tone of voice, and motion adds emphasis where it’s needed. Together they express who you are and create an experience that feels unmistakably yours.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a typical project take?

Most projects take between four and twelve weeks, depending on their size and complexity. I'll give you a realistic timescale before we begin.

Can you work with our developers?

Absolutely. I'm happy to collaborate with in-house teams or external developers, providing designs, prototypes, and support throughout the project.

Do you write or edit content?

Yes. I can help shape your message, edit existing copy, or write new content that reflects your business and its goals.

Can you redesign an existing website?

Of course. Not every project starts from scratch. Sometimes the best solution is to refine and improve what you already have.

Do you build websites as well as design them?

Yes. I build the websites I design using modern web technologies. I don’t develop websites designed bu someone else.

How much does a typical project cost?

Every project is different, so I don't offer fixed packages. Once we've discussed your goals, I'll provide a clear proposal and transparent pricing.

Every project is different

Some projects involve designing a completely new website. Others begin by refining an existing product or website. My work might include art direction, content strategy, illustration, interface design, technical development, or helping your team bring everything together.
